Acts 2:42-47 (NLT) - The Believers Form a Community
42  All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to
sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.
43  A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous
signs and wonders.  44  And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything
they had.  45  They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in
need.  46  They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s
Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—  47  all the while praising God
and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their
fellowship those who were being saved.

WHAT TOOK PLACE AFTER PENTECOST SUNDAY WHEN THE HOLY-SPIRIT-LED CHURCH WAS
LAUNCHED:
1. SIGNS AND WONDERS
2. MEETING TOGETHER
3. SHARING WITH THOSE IN NEED
4. WORSHIPPING TOGETHER
5. MEETING IN HOMES, HAVING COMMUNION & MEALS TOGETHER
6. ENJOYING UNITY AND PURPOSE
7. GROWING AS THEY FULFILLED THE GREAT COMMISSION

THERE ARE REASONS WE GATHER TOGETHER AS THE CHURCH.
OUR MISSION IS REACHING PEOPLE, RAISING DISCIPLES, RELEASING LEADERS. The church
must GATHER and SCATTER to achieve this mission and most importantly, the Great
Commission… “GO, INTO ALL THE WORLD AND MAKE DISCIPLES”.

THE REASONS WE GATHER ARE EXPLAINED BEST BY SCRIPTURE ITSELF.

Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one
another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

1 Corinthians 14:26 ESV

When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an
interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

Acts 2:1 ESV
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Hebrews 10:24 ESV
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

Psalm 133:1 ESV
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!

Romans 12:4-5 ESV
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same
function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of
another.

Ephesians 4:11-15 ESV
And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to
equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all
attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood,
to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children,
tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine

Galatians 6:10 ESV
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who
are of the household of faith.

Romans 12:5 ESV
So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

Matthew 18:20 ESV
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Hebrews 10:25 ESV
Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another,
and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Let’s remain united through this season and walk into all that God has ahead of us with
boldness and courage. Unity is relational, not just locational. One spirit, One heart, One
purpose. Together, we are better!
