Our mission is to REACH people with the Gospel message, RAISE disciples of Jesus Christ, and RELEASE leaders into their calling. In 2026, we're expanding our vision and stepping out to do that in another location.

Starting on Sunday February 1st, we'll be gathering for Sunday services every week at 9am. We are excited to announce that our location for City Church Penrith will be Hog's Breath Cafe, located on the corner of Mulgoa Rd and Ransley St Penrith. It's in a great central location, full accesible, has its own carpark, and has plenty of space for Kid's Church too!

Location Pastors

Pastors Ben & Amy and the City Church board are thrilled to announce that Rob and Rach Badman will be the Location Pastors for our brand new City Church Penrith congregation!

Rob and Rach have been part of our Mt Riverview family for nearly 6 years, serving faithfully across many areas of church life. Married for 13 years and parents to Judah, Zoe, and Lucy, they carry a deep love for Jesus and His Church.

Rob has served on staff this year as our Discipleship Pastor and is credentialed with the ACC, bringing a background in ministry and education. Rach, with her HR experience and heart for people, has long invested in building healthy teams and caring for others. Together, they are passionate about the Word, the presence of God, worship, and equipping the body of Christ, and they carry a vision to see a thriving, Spirit-filled City Church home in Penrith.

Why Penrith?

Establishing a City Church home in Penrith has been in the heart of the leadership of City Church for many years. We have a conviction that part of fulfilling the Great Commission to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) includes sharing our faith in our own backyard, and we are excited about what is happening in the incredible region of Penrith.

Penrith is growing rapidly, with numerous long-term expansion projects such as Western Sydney Airport, the North-South rail link, Penrith CBD rezoning, and the establishment of new suburbs all contributing to the LGA’s remarkable population growth. More than 3000 people moved into the area in the last 3 years, and it is estimated that the population will grow by more than 30,000 in the next 15 years alone. Every one of these people matters deeply to God, so we want them to encounter His love and to be part of a welcoming, loving, Christ-following family.

What’s the plan?

We have already gathered an incredible Launch Team — a group of committed people who will form the foundation of our new church community. Launch Team members will call City Church Penrith their church home and will help establish it through prayer, service, and community. 

After launch, we will initially focus on:

  • Sunday services (including Kids’ Church)

  • Connect Groups

  • Partnership and events with City Church Mt Riverview

As we grow, we desire to establish a permanent home in the Penrith area — a facility with space for worship, Kids’ Church, youth, community initiatives, short courses, and more. If you sense God leading you to be part of this exciting new work, click here.
